The Arrival (3)
The Arrival hit home more than I thought it would. My parents and grandparents were immigrants so I heard stories about what it was like coming to America and the hardships they had to experience. So seeing the man go through difficulties and uncertainty for himself and his family reminds me of what my family experienced as well. I liked the take on how the artist portrayed the written language, how it seems very foreign and alien. It pushed how it feels when there are a language barrier and the struggles that come with it. The part where the man talks with the woman who was also an immigrant and shared her story with him and how she left to escape the forced labor, then the other story told by the man who escaped from the street cleaners which alludes they left to escape from violence or war that is happening in their homeland got to me since I just thought the artist did such an excellent job at conveying the hardships the characters go through, the artist excellently showed how peo
